CONCRETE QUALITY INSPECTIONS

Empirical qualified engineers regularly undertake inspection of pre-cast concrete and cast in-situ concrete elements as part of quality control checks either on site or at the pre-cast factory.

This can include the below: -

  • Monitoring of quality control and workmanship including placement/curing process.

  • Checks on compaction using visual examination and non-destructive test methods.

  • Monitoring of maturity of the elements being cast.

  • Checks on accurate placement of reinforcement and post tensioning following casting for example using GPR to check for displaced post tensioned tendon profiles.

  • Reinforcement checks on placement and concrete cover checks.

  • Non-destructive testing such as cover meter, Schmidt hammer, UPV, tomography and GPR scanning.
