CONCRETE QUALITY INSPECTIONS
Empirical qualified engineers regularly undertake inspection of pre-cast concrete and cast in-situ concrete elements as part of quality control checks either on site or at the pre-cast factory.
This can include the below: -
Monitoring of quality control and workmanship including placement/curing process.
Checks on compaction using visual examination and non-destructive test methods.
Monitoring of maturity of the elements being cast.
Checks on accurate placement of reinforcement and post tensioning following casting for example using GPR to check for displaced post tensioned tendon profiles.
Reinforcement checks on placement and concrete cover checks.
Non-destructive testing such as cover meter, Schmidt hammer, UPV, tomography and GPR scanning.
